NATIONAL SECURITY AND FOREIGN POLICY

The United States must have a strong and principled foreign policy to rise to the challenge of the growing threats of international terrorism, economic terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and authoritarian regimes that threaten global peace and security.

The days of leading from behind and undermining our military are behind us. The United States must make sure that dangerous adversaries such as Communist China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran are held accountable for their aggression. These regimes should face strong consequences for technology theft, election interference, ballistic missile development and other acts that threaten our security and sovereignty.

Countries around the world look to the United States as the shining example of freedom and great opportunity. They try to emulate our best qualities of freedom and liberty and their citizens go to bed each night hoping one day to live-out their American Dream as a citizen of our great country.

We must, when it becomes necessary, look evil in the face and confront it, because if we do not wake up, more innocent blood will be shed without the aid of freedom loving men and women.

As home to Fort Carson, Peterson, Schriever, and Buckley Air Force bases, Cheyenne Mountain Air Station and the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado is at the forefront of our military’s mission to protect our nation and to train our nation’s young leaders.  We must consistently and responsibly invest in our military to ensure the safety and security of Americans and our friends and allies around the world.
